Me & My Son, Abner ♥︎
Jackie Allen, MA, LMFT
A recovering blocked artist myself, from a long line of artists, I know firsthand the struggles of self-doubt, perfectionism, and creative paralysis.
With over six years of experience as a psychotherapist and mentor, I’ve worked with everyone from toddlers to teens to adults, using client-centered depth therapy, creativity coaching, play therapy, and expressive arts therapy.
In college, I studied the psychology of creativity through the lenses of poetry and printmaking at New York University’s Gallatin School. Later, I earned a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Antioch University and completed advanced trainings in creativity coaching and expressive arts therapy.
Now, my focus is on helping people actualize their creative dreams and develop lasting wellbeing via therapy and coaching. Creativity-focused therapy and coaching aim to heal creative wounding and foster a healthier relationship with artistic identity. Greater holistic mental health ripples outward from this central focus.
In addition to my creativity coaching with adults, I maintain a small practice facilitating play and creative arts therapy with kids.
I also co-host an interactive podcast & community about the pain and joy of creativity called Secret Superstar Society.
